Hypnotherapy training – is it for you ?

Why I became a Hypnotherapist and why hypnotherapy training is for you

Hi I’m Gary Johannes and I’m the senior lecturer here at CPHT  Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the East of England

hypnotherapy training is it for you
Hypnotherapy training could be for you

But I’ve not always been a hypnotherapist in fact just like many of my students I’ve had a varied career. I went on the hypnotherapist to get more personal development, to get business development so I could be better at my then job. However, I fell in love with being a hypnotherapist. So much so I built a busy practice of my own and now I’m also a lecturer for the gold standard hypnotherapy school CPHT.

So if you’re ready to start a new career, to upskill in your current roll or just want to have the freedom that comes with the lifestyle you really want, then this course is for you.

The best thing about being a hypnotherapist for me when I started was the ability to help so many different people whether for anxiety in everyday life or doing presentation within their jobs.

The other thing for me it gave me freedom to live the lifestyle I wanted. So I was in control of my destiny, I was in control of how many hours I worked and when I worked. I could choose whether I wanted time off or whether I wanted to work every hour available. It is my choice, I’m in charge of my destiny, I felt good about that and I was able to help people feel good about themselves. So it was the freedom that I really enjoyed.

So who comes on our course?

We get such a wide variety of different types of people coming on our course. From different aspects of life, we get people who are working full time and want to change their careers, they want to free up some time, get of the hamster wheel of corporate life.

We get people who are already qualified in the therapy or medical world, whether that be in the nhs like a nurse or someone working as a counselor or maybe a body worker like a masseur or chiropractor and want to add more tools to help more people. We get people who have been a fulltime parent and want to get back into the work place but also want to help people

So we get all walks of life. We get people who want to be partime we get people who want to be fulltime, but most of all when they come on the course they want to see how they can fit the course around their busy lives and get the qualification they want and to start their new careers

And our course is perfect for that!

One of the big questions I get ask on a regular basis is, how do I fit in all the course work around our everyday lives? Over the years we’ve been running hypnotherapy courses here we’ve had all sorts of people, we’ve had people working fulltime employment, mums’ children (even nursing mums) people working away from home and people who have just come back into the work place after being a parent for many many years. And they have all noticed how easy it is, how flexible it is to fit around their day to day lives.

What also sets us apart is that we are solution focused. That means we work with people to get the best outc0me for them, but its future paced, we also use the most clinically proven techniques and the most modern neuroscience research to back up everything we do so we know we are always at the forefront of the hypnotherapy world

Adding New Strings To Your Bow… Hypnotherapy Training

Hypnotherapy TrainingRecently I was asked what it meant to have another string to my bow? It made me think for a moment and then I was aware of a warm, confident feeling flow through me.

Currently I am a Chiropractor training in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH). Seem odd to you? Well there are actually a lot of overlaps. Many of my Chiropractic patients re-present repeatedly with aches and pains caused by posture, injury and more than often driven by an element of stress and tension. SFH helps people to relax and unwind, which can be very beneficial to not just their mental wellbeing but that of their physical body too.

I ventured into SFH because I wanted to help patients realise and be their best but also Chiropractic is a very physical job and due to my genetics it is likely that I won’t be able to physically do my job right up to retirement age and the thought of not being able to help people out of pain was challenging me.

The opportunity came along and I grasped it with both hands. Not only do I get to continue to help people for longer but I have benefitted myself from learning about and understanding, how the brain works and what a healthy mind looks and feels like.

I am half way through my training and I feel lighter, brighter and confident. The trials and tribulations of life still happen but they are more manageable and I see a future full of helping people feel the same way.

Being A Clinical Hypnotherapist Is A Decidedly Rewarding Career – Hypnotherapy Training

Hypnotherapy Training Courses – Why I chose Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

I particularly look forward to Fridays as do most of the general population, but probably for very different reasons! For me, it’s an opportunity to reflect back on the all people I have seen throughout the week, and how I am able to aid them on their journey as my hypnotherapist once aided me.

It wasn’t very long ago that I too couldn’t wait until Friday, almost delirious that the week was finally over, looking forward to spending time with family and friends over the weekend.  But then that feeling of dread slowly creeping over as Sunday afternoon quickly began to turn into Sunday evening. desperately clinging on to the last few hours of freedom until the weekly grind replayed once more, and missing out on a good night’s sleep fretting over the doom that is Monday Morning!!  Not a good start to the week; waking up tired and disgruntled.

It dawned upon me, although there wasn’t technically anything ‘wrong’ with my life, I felt, well rather ‘bleurgh’, flat and discontented. Surely our jobs should be a positive existence, a place in which we spend most of our time with people we are happy to surround ourselves with? Sadly, for many of us this is just not the case, according to some recent research conducted by the London School of Business and Finance a staggering forty-seven percent of the professional population want to change their jobs. The poll hoped for increased salary prospects, better work-life balance and improved job satisfaction.

                      happiness

I took my concerns of entrapment and to an extent guilt and ingratitude (after all I had a roof over my head and a healthy family didn’t I?) to a recommended hypnotherapist in Peterborough, I always thoroughly enjoyed my own hypnotherapy sessions and was amazed and intrigued by the changes I had made in my life and most importantly the understanding I took away stayed with me.

As my interest peaked I decided the time was right and contacted my hypnotherapist, he suggested registering on the CPHT HPD diploma Hypnotherapy Training course, they offered the best qualification.

I chose the successful CPHT in particular for the depth of knowledge passed down to their students, they have pioneered the way for modern science based clinical hypnotherapy.

Their Hypnotherapy training courses are designed to conveniently ‘slot’ into life. I trained for one weekend per month for ten months, allowing me work throughout the duration of the course, this worked surprisingly well, and fitted quite nicely into work, home and a young family.

I enjoyed every aspect of the CPHT course so much so that just over a year later I gleefully welcome Mondays and aiding my clients at my own practice.

Being a clinical hypnotherapist is a decidedly rewarding career, my job to assist and support my clients to bring about desired change is exceptionally fulfilling.

Hypnotherapy Training after 20 years as a Mum

Hypnotherapy Training “From 20 Years As Stay at Home Mum To Busy Clinical Hypnotherapist”

I have been fortunate enough to be a stay at home Mum for the last 20 years.  With my youngest son off to university I knew it was time to get back out in the world.  Being at home during my children’s formative years was an amazing privilege however it’s not great for your confidence.  I had become an expert at getting the stains out of rugby kits and could bake a reasonable cake but the thought of going out to work was very daunting!

Within the last couple of years we had as a family seen first-hand the true value of hypnotherapy and what powerful change it can bring about.  My husband had been commuting for five hours a day and after nine years this started to take its toll and he began to suffer panic attacks on the train.  Visits to the doctor and several sessions of counselling had little impact and then quite by chance I came across a leaflet that on one side exactly described Sean symptoms and on the other explained how hypnotherapy could help.  Sean had regular sessions of hypnotherapy with Gary Johannes of Inspired to Change for a couple of months.  Almost instantly Sean started to feel better and within a few weeks he was back at work.  I was fascinated by the power of hypnotherapy and started to look into training courses.

As if it was meant to be, Sean received an email from Gary to say that he was starting a CPHT Hypnotherapy training course in Peterborough.  The Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) is a nationwide training body providing a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma Course. Hypnotherapy is now considered to be one of the fastest growing professions in the UK and CPHT has enabled hundreds of students to become successful hypnotherapists.  I already knew just how powerful this form of hypnotherapy was and so had no concerns about the subject of the course itself however I was nervous about my own ability to study after all these years.  Gary was very reassuring, he explained that it was a very practical course where you are encouraged to start seeing clients from the very beginning and you are well supported throughout.  The academic side clearly explained and you are given plenty of time to complete the work.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing this course, yes it stretched me but I learnt so much about myself as well as how to really help and make a difference to my clients.  Don’t let age or lack of self-belief stop you from doing this course, it is good to stretch yourself and discover what you are truly capable of and think of all the good you can do for so many people.

Training to be a Hypnotherapist Is the most transferable skill of all

Training to be a Hypnotherapist
Really? 21% want a new career this year?

Why training to be a Hypnotherapist could be your way forward

Studies show that just 20% of UK workers are happy at work and that almost half would like to change career, with 21% hoping to make that change in the next 12 months.

Does that surprise you?

For many, the motivation to change career is that what they do in their day job makes no meaningful contribution to the world.  This suggests that making money has become less important to them as making an impact.

13 years ago, I was one of those people and when I ditched my successful corporate London career, sold my Chelsea pad and moved to Melbourne, Australia to retrain as a hypnotherapist, some people thought I’d lost my mind.  The truth is that it was having hypnotherapy in my mid-twenties that helped me identify that I was not happy with my life, including my job.  It also helped me realise what was most important to me – it gave me the confidence to pursue it!

Back then, there weren’t many people that I knew making such drastic moves to change their career, but career change statistics now suggest that the average person will be making a career change approximately 5-7 times during their working life.

How things have changed!

I believe that people have come to realise that there is no longer such a thing as ‘job security’ and that in fact, these days the only real security is in developing our knowledge, skills and abilities so that we have more value to offer our employers or our clients.

I have trained in many things:  Human Resources Management, Business, Leadership, Management, Psychotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Coaching and even Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu!  However, it was the decision to train as a Hypnotherapist that has been the most useful in everything I have done since I made that decision at the age of 29!

Not only did it enable me personally to make a significant life-change and to get out of the corporate trap, but the knowledge and skills it gave me enabled me to build a successful private practice, to create and develop the leadership infrastructure and team to build a national business network, to write a successful business book, to advise on two company boards and to make a meaningful impact in my work as a business coach and mentor, helping small business owners to build successful businesses and create the lifestyle they want.

Looking For A New Career? Try Hypnotherapy!

Looking for a NEW career?
Be Part of the solution… “Train As A Hypnotherapist”

Looking for a new career? Have you considered hypnotherapy? It is one of the fastest growing careers in the UK and here is why.

1 in 4 of us will suffer from some form of mental health issue in 2016. The pressures of our moderns lives means stress, anxiety and depression are on the rise and our National Health Service is struggling to keep up.

4 years ago I was one of those 1 in 4. A diagnosis of M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) had seen me go from someone who ran twice a week, swam twice a week and worked just as hard in a very successful career to someone who struggled to put one foot in front of another and string together a decent sentence.

The uncertainty during the 2 years it took to get a diagnosis sent my anxiety rocketing and my confidence plummeting and, what had started out as a physical health issue spiralled into a mental health issue too.
I’m pleased to say I am no longer one of the 1 in 4 – I’m now one of the 1 in 36,000. I’m one of the growing body of professional hypnotherapists who are leading the way in the mental health arena, helping those 1 in 4 overcome their stress, anxiety or depression, building their confidence and self-esteem so they can move forward with their lives.
Hypnotherapy helped me get my life back on track. I recognised that the high stress work environment I had thrived in before was no longer doing me any favours. I was so inspired by how hypnotherapy had helped me that I rather rashly decided the solution was to retrain as a hypnotherapist myself.

It sounded great as I imagined it in my mind – how lovely it would be to help others every day, to choose the hours I wanted to work, to ditch the daily commute. What a fulfilling life I would have! But then reality hit, I couldn’t just give up work and retrain and set up a new business – I had a mortgage to pay!
My hypnotherapist recommended I contact CPHT as they provided the best qualification in the UK – if you’re going to do something you’ve got to do it properly right! I had a mixture of excitement and disappointment swirling around my mind as I picked up the phone to them – I’d read about their diploma course and it sounded amazing but I couldn’t see how I could find the time or the money to retrain. So I was delighted to learn that I could do the course at weekends and pay for it in monthly instalments! So there really was nothing holding me back.
And three and a half years on from making that phone call I don’t have to imagine how lovely it is to help others every day, I don’t have to imagine what it’s like to choose when I want to work.

I don’t have to imagine what my life would be like without the daily commute and the stressful work environment. I live that fulfilling life every day on the other side of the 1 in 4 – as part of the solution, not feeling stuck in the problem.
